Gamiing is an Ojibwa word for “at the shore”. On the western shore of Pigeon Lake, Gamiing Nature Centre is the perfect place to discover nature in wintertime. Wander seven kilometers of trails and see winter wildlife, warm your hands by a campfire and enjoy hot drinks and chili. Children will love the Discovery Shack’s collection of flora and fauna, much of it displayed on touch tables. There’s even a musical performance planned for this Family Day. The 100-acre not-for-profit nature centre wants to restore the bond with nature that is so important for human and global health. It’s just 15 kilometers south of Highland Green in Bobcaygeon.
