Canadians and Americans vie to catch Walleye this weekend

Don’t be surprised if you hear a lot of fish stories in Bobcaygeon over the next few days. Not only is it Victoria Day weekend, it’s the return of the annual Canada/U.S. Walleye Tournament Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19. This marks the 39th year of the tournament that attracts fishing enthusiasts from both sides of the border. Things get moving at 6 a.m. at Beach Park on Sturgeon Lake this Saturday. Catch the live weigh-in each day at 2 p.m. With prize money exceeding $25,000, competition will be lively! Beach Park is a very short distance from Highland Green in Bobcaygeon.
