Bobcaygeon Fall Fair turns 160 this September 27-29

It’s the little fair that started in 1858 when Bobcaygeon was a logging and farming settlement. This coming week, the spirit of a close-knit community lives on in a festive celebration of all things agricultural. There are tractor pulls, a demolition derby, horse and dog shows, homecrafts, and livestock and poultry exhibitions. The area’s best produce will be judged and awarded prizes, from garlic to pumpkins to honey to haybales. Don’t miss the midway or the fair parade with its antique cars and trucks, costumed youngsters on tricycles and strolling couples dressed in old fashioned wear. And be sure to practice your dance moves for the event that winds up the fair, the Saturday night dance. Where: Bobcaygeon Fairgrounds, 47 Mansfield St.
